Earth, Space, and Water. Necessary to sustain life. Hooper? Necessary to sustain living.

Perfumes have always been something seen as part of the fast life, the hustle culture, for those who don’t have time to waste or a moment to stop. Hooper is the antithesis of what the “average” perfume is supposed to be. Among all the bottles that scream for your attention on shelves across the world, this one is a concept that reserves itself, calmly waiting for those with patience to observe, absorb, and understand. This is Hooper.

The idea behind Hooper was to build something which could break through the perfume using experience from beyond the ordinary and casual. When you think of the act of using a fragrance, one really has to consider factors which may miss the first thought. People shouldn't be asked to buy perfumes, rather see it as an investment. An investment into themselves. After all, why use something supposed to be personal, if it is not supposed to be a part of your persona. That's exactly what the entire idea of Hooper is all about. It isn't just about having a bottle with a fancy looking logo and cool labels, but rather holding something which you could proudly display at the front of your cabinet. More than that, it is something that should make you feel emotions and a sense of being alive sheerly by holding it.

That is what dictated the design language of Hooper, not just the logo, or the labels but the entire process of crafting the Hooper experience. The bottle, the inner cavity, cap textures, packaging and the entire design system was crafted taking into consideration what the Hooper user should aspire to have. Not 'be', but 'have'. See the thing is Hooper isn't an exclusive club or a rich people party, anybody could be a Hooper user, anyone who values life and the little details of it all. And that is the philosophy that dictated our design decisions.

The part of life that matters.

This collaborative project was an experience enriching to the brim and beyond. The way brands and design experiences transverse across from the physical product to the packaging and little details like the logo was something which was incredibly fun to explore and experiment with. Somya and I had a lot of fun crafting this project which was sparked with a curious idea of viewing perfumes from a different angle, hope you enjoyed this brand experience too.
