The Opportunity

Design a truly portable coffee maker

MokaMax began by researching the gap between domestic coffee rituals and the wilderness. User interviews revealed a need for a mess free, sustainable brewer that wouldn't lose parts in the field. Using a modular, interlocking system, the final design ensures easy cleaning and rugged portability. Featuring an integrated hiker's rope and biodegradable pods, MokaMax combines a minimalist aesthetic with high utility performance for both the campsite and the classroom.

A Coffee Pot that Travels with you

Inspired by the Moka pot's iconic hourglass geometry, MokaMax translates the domestic coffee ritual into the wilderness.

Sporting a unique ridged silhouette to appeal to the wanderers - MokaMax blends easily with other rugged items in their backpack and also acts as place for fingers to nestle and rest. It also sports a multi-purpose flexible rope - that attaches to any gear/bag/accessory.

How It works

MokaMax reimagines the brewing process as a series of intuitive, tactile "clicks."

MokaMax is divided into 3 main compartments - which are all easily cleaned. The decomposable coffee filter pods can be thrown after each use further cutting down on cleaning.   The Pressure chamber and the top cap can be fastened easily and stowed away upside down in one piece without having the risk of losing or taking care of smaller parts.

Machined with food grade stainless steel this flask will keep making coffee no matter the environment, be it a Library or a hilly cliff.
